Questions people ask

When can I resit A-level Maths?

Edexcel A-level Maths (9MA0) is sat once a year, in the May and June exam series. There is no winter resit.

Do I have to resit all three papers?

Yes. The A-level is linear: marks from an earlier attempt do not carry over, so you sit Papers 1, 2 and 3 again and the new grade comes from those.

Can I resit if I have left school?

Yes, as a private candidate at an exam centre that accepts them. Centres set their own fees and entry deadlines, which usually fall early in the year of the exam, so contact one in the autumn.

How long do I need to prepare?

Most students who are a grade short need a term of steady practice: topic repairs first, then a full paper a week for the last two months.
