How we work this out

What it does

Paste a finished practice essay and its title: see which topic areas it uses, which paragraphs drift from the title and which wordings to fix.

Practice answers to AQA A-level Biology (7402) Paper 3 essay titles, the question worth 25 marks.

Method

  1. We look for our key terms for 33 areas of the specification. An area counts when your essay names at least two of its terms.
  2. AQA's June 2025 essay guidance asks for at least four relevant topic areas for the top bands, so the page compares your count with four.
  3. A paragraph that never uses a word from the title (or a close form of it) is flagged, with its opening quoted.
  4. Seven wordings AQA mark schemes do not credit, such as "energy is produced" and "the enzyme is killed", are found and quoted with the right wording.
  5. One rewrite task comes first: add an area if you have fewer than four, then fix a paragraph off the title, then a wording.
